Viswanath Temple

Located on the banks of the Bhagirathi River, this sacred site is framed by snowy mountains on all sides. Every year, during the Char Dham Yatra, the Gangotri, and the Yamunotri pilgrimages, millions of devotees make the journey to pray at its beautiful Shiva linga.
Maneri Dam
In Uttarkashi, one of the most stunning sights is the Maneri Concrete Gravity Dam, which was constructed on the Bhagirathi River and is now a popular tourist destination. With towering mountains and verdant alpine meadows on all sides, the dam makes for a stunningly attractive area to unwind.

Dodital Lake

Kuteti Devi’s Temple
This Hindu temple is dedicated to Goddess Kuteti Devi, a form of Durga. Located atop Hari Parvat, a hill with panoramic views of the Bhagirathi, is this ancient city. Legend has it that the daughter and son-in-law of Maharaja Kota built the temple with divine permission. The temple is dedicated to the Maharaja’s memory.
Kuteti Devi is worshipped as the primary protector deity by the people of the neighbouring villages, despite the fact that both locals and tourists frequent this temple. This temple is also a popular destination for sightseers.

Nehru Institute Of Mountaineering
On November 14 of 1965, the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering was established in Uttarkashi. Since then, it has grown to become one of the most prestigious mountaineering academies in all of Asia, not just India. NIM offers a wide range of mountain and adventure courses to its participants.
The institute was established in memory of India’s first prime minister, Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru, who was noted for his deep appreciation of the country’s stunning mountainous terrain. The institute is situated in the rolling grassland at the base of the Alps, and it boasts a magnificent lawn.
