
Beaches in Auckland, New Zealand Every Tourist Must Visit
There are so many beaches to choose from in Auckland that it’s hard to get bored here. It’s all here, from the pristine white sands of the east coast to the untamed black sands of the west.

Karekare is a more secluded beach located a few kilometers south of Piha. The water at this beach is a bit more turbulent.
If you’re a fan of movies, you might be interested to learn that the beach sequences in the Piano were filmed near Karekare Falls, which can be reached by taking a beautiful hike inland.
Wenderholm Regional Park Beach
On the North Shore, just past Orewa beach, you’ll find this beach, which is located in one of the most beautiful regional parks in all of Auckland. Between the Puhoi River and the Waiwera River is where you’ll find Wenderholm Regional Park.
The beach is a peaceful sandy beach with unobstructed views of the Hauraki Gulf. There is a large selection of picnic sites that look out over the beach and are shaded by pohutukawa trees during the warm summer months.
Mission Bay Beach
Mission Bay, which is a beachfront district of Auckland, is home to one of the most popular beaches in the city. This seaside neighborhood also features a plethora of cafés, restaurants, and bars, all of which are lined up parallel to the beach in order to take advantage of the view.
Selwyn Domain is a tiny park area that is located just behind the beach and has a water fountain that is frequently the subject of photographs. Grab some fish and chips, find a spot on the beach, and take in the lively atmosphere of Mission Bay while you’re at it.
Long Bay Regional Park Beach
The location of the beach earns it a spot in our top 10 list. The beach, which is made up of sand and pebbles, can be found in Long Bay Regional Park and is close to the 970-hectare Okura Marine Reserve.

The beach, which is located close to Torbay, is an ideal location for picnics and barbecues because of its numerous cooking stations and spacious seating areas. Walk off your meal along one of the beautiful walking pathways here at the park.
Takapuna Beach
Joggers, paddleboarders, kayaks, and sailboats are just some of the visitors who come to Takapuna’s main beach to take advantage of the picture-perfect scenery.
In and of itself, Takapuna is a quaint little town that boasts some of the best shopping in all of Auckland. The town is known for its many cafes, restaurants, and bars, as well as its famed weekly market that takes place every Sunday.
